HELP US HELP THE BIRDS DONATIONS ARE WELCOME

These are the type of box’s Many Hoots uses. We have had success with them, but we will not guarantee birds will use the box’s that you use,

If nothing uses them in the first year don't give up, leave the box’s were they are until next year you never know do you.

Barn owl box will follow as soon as possible

Wild owls will line the nest with casts (pellets) like these,

They will rip them apart and use them as a soft lining to lay the eggs on,

They are in fact undigested parts of their last meal, that is passed through the MOUTH.

BOX  1

Nest type (2) barn owls, you can use a single board.

wall

Place a 1 meter square board

Up against a wall like this,

Barn owls will nest under it.

This is the cheapest way for any barn owl  breeder to make a nesting place for their owl is by placing a piece of board up against the side of the aviary. If it is on soil you do nothing else they will do it all, if cement make a tray with 4” sides then add a mixture of wood chippings and soil or peat 50/50  mixed well. You will be able to see what is going on inside the nest. With out disturbing the barn owls. Good luck and don't forget to ring the young between the 12 & 15th day some will need a day or two either way depending if it is male or female. if you are selling the young A10 is required. If you are giving them away no A10 is required, only a letter from you to say that they were bred in captivity when the parent bird was lawfully kept when the egg was laid and that it is a gift to the named person then date the letter and hand it to the new owner, if the bird is a gift you do not legally have to ring the bird but for your protection it is wise to do so or have it micro chipped or tattooed with a number unique to that bird.

I use this type for. Bengal, European, African, Canadian, Eagle owls, It works for me and its cheaper and cleaner,

Happy nest building
