OH! YES IT IS. The story went like this.... A few years ago, around the year of 1996 the lottery started in Southern Africa. People were poor trying to find all ways to make ends meet, (it’s the same all the world over) Someone made a stupid remark to some of the illiterate land workers out in the wild lands of southern Africa, Vultures have far greater eye sight than us they can seen into the furthest future and predict OUR future, by magic they would seen the lottery numbers, so he and some close friends went and lured the vultures close so that they could behead them and dry the heads and sell them to people who believed in superstition these persons are known as the Vulture catchers, It soon became apparent to poachers EASY MONEY catch a vulture kill it and dry the head. (Another superstition is born) They got about 1000 rand for each head. IN the years between 2000 and 2003, 200 vultures were found headless in the KWAZULU NATIONAL Province alone. Also Headless Vultures were found near the KRUGER NATIONAL PARK, The name for Vulture in ZULU is INQE (meaning Purifier) because is cleans the land of the dead. When people go to see the Local medicine man who is known as the (SAQOMA) To ward off evil, or to make medicine the SAQOMA will open his bag of magic bones and roll them on the ground in these bones you will see the Beak of vulture this bone means DEATH.
In the land of the ZULU the King of the ZULU is also the protector of the vulture and theoretically can sentence to death any person on ZULU land that harms a VULTURE. It is now beginning to slow down now as the people of Africa realises that this is not true, lets hope that this stops all over Africa. |

THREE years of studying Lurch the African White backed Vulture I have concluded to my satisfaction that these birds are very inquisitive, on a scale of 1-10 the intelligence is rated at 5, 10 being the highest intelligence, |
