About Us

Many Hoots started as a passion of Tiny’s that has grown so much over the years that it occasionally has volunteers to help out as we are a private rescue centre that receives no government funding.

 

A garden that has been transformed into a place to recuperate injured birds and small animals ready for their release back to their natural habitats, though they are always free to come and go as they please.

 

Rearing baby birds as young as a day old to a stage were they are able to fend for themselves. These birds see us as their parents, from where the parents are they won't go far.

 

Unfortunately we can not accept any farm animals, sorry but we no longer have space for them.

 

We also have a variety of parrots, parakeets, and finches given to us, we do not

re-home  parrot or finch type birds sorry.

Our Aims

EDUCATION, PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION.

Our aim is to provide a place of recuperation to most of our British or migrating bird that have been injured in one way or the other. Once they have been treated by a vet and are fit enough, they will be returned to continue their life in the wild.

 

If nothing can be done for that bird to continue to live a normal and happy life it will be humanely put to sleep by a qualified vet. Only if the injuries are so bad nothing can be done for it.

 

If the bird is a Raptor and can not go back, It can be adopted out, Short term or long term under the strict guidelines of Many Hoots, It will never belong to that person and can be called back at any time.

 

If the bird is on the RED LIST (endangered species) and can not be released, a licence from DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) will be applied for and the bird will be used for breeding and their young will be released under licence, Were applicable.

 

We try our UTMOST to release all birds and back to their natural habitat.

 

Many Hoots will try and answers all questions that are asks about Many Hoots (see contact page for details on how to contact us). We will  help children as well as adults understand the importance of all bird life, and the importance of raptors to the world.

 

We help and give support to first time bird owners to help insure they correctly treat and look after their birds. We do not condemn any person who wishes to have a Bird of prey it is their wish, Like it is for other people who wish to have a dog or cat,

 

We show Raptors to the public for the purpose of education and for close up visual contact and observation (to show feather and bone structure). We also show how to handle raptors, owls and many other types of birds - hands on stays in the minds of children  longer. You never know what a child will grow up to be.

 

Many Hoots does not condemn people for keeping birds or animals as long as they are capable and have the knowledge to look after a bird or animal of the species they wish to keep.

 

EDUCATION, PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION are THE MOST INPORTANT THING.

TO UNDERSTAND BIRDS AND ANIMALS WILL HELP HUMANS UNDERSTAND LIFE,

PUT WATER OUT IN THE HOT WEATHER, AND FOOD IN COLD. DON’T FORGET TAKE IN THE FOOD AT NIGHT AND KEEP THE RATS AWAY.
